Give Hoi An two nights: one for the Ancient Town and one for My Son or the Cham Islands. Stay in or near the Ancient Town, and buy the heritage ticket before you go in. Avoid October and November, when the Thu Bon river floods the old streets.

How long have you got?

  • One day: the Ancient Town in the morning, Tra Que village in the afternoon, then the old town again after dark.
  • Two days: add My Son at opening time (06:00) before the heat.
  • Three days: add a day on the Cham Islands, from March to August.
